Mesothelioma Types

Mesothelioma pleural is a type that is associated with lung cancer. It is actually a type of cancer that infects the cells of the pleura, which is the lining around the lungs, forming a thin barrier between them and chest cavity wall. This type of mesothelioma accounts for about 75% of all types of the disease.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is similar to the pleural form of the disease to the extent found in the cell barrier separating the abdominal organs from the abdominal cavity wall. This thin layer of cells called the peritoneum. This type of cancer most commonly leads to cancers of the stomach, throat, intestines and other abdominal cancers. Malignant Mesothelioma II

Advanced malignant mesothelioma

Malignant Mesothelioma Stage II, III or IV.

Stage I malignant mesothelioma

Cancer is found in the lining of the chest wall and can also be found in the lining of the lung, the lining of the diaphragm (the thin muscle below the lungs and heart that separates the chest from the abdomen), or lining of the sac covering the heart on the same side of the chest. Also called localized malignant mesothelioma.

Stage II malignant mesothelioma

Cancer is found in the lining of the chest wall and lymph nodes on the same side of the chest. The cancer can also be found in the lining of the lung, the lining of the diaphragm (the thin muscle below the lungs and heart that separates the chest from the abdomen) or the lining of the sac that covers the heart on the same side of the chest . The Stage II malignant mesothelioma is advanced malignant mesothelioma.
