Food and cancer
The Tandem-cancer diet is from two different variants. On the one hand, considering the diet as a factor precursor or prevention of cancer and, secondly, from the role of diet in the treatment of cancer patients.
Until recently it was not easy to establish a clear and direct relationship between diet and cancer. Different studies clearly demonstrated individually, or the degree of relationship, or the time of tumor development in the intervening few specific foods or dietary habits. However, many studies are conducted and as wide collection of information in them, that in studying the problem from a global perspective and integrating the results are more than convincing.
Diets rich in meat and fat, some vitamins and micronutrients have been obtained after many studies, scores of promoters or protectors of cancer, respectively. Throughout these pages, we will try to outline the most current data in this respect and basic food standards that advise the Agency engaged and concerned about public health for the prevention of this disease.
The other aspect, the nutritional treatment of cancer patients, which relates to nutrition and cancer, has in recent years many positive fruits, allowing a better quality of life for patients undergoing curative or palliative therapies. Perhaps the best outcomes focus on palliative therapies, which have taken a special interest in being the most effective short-term and some processes have become cancer, chronic diseases.
